ZEUS-86
Roku’s most powerful and largest high accuracy machine. Includes twin ball screws, HSK-E50 / 25,000 RPM Spindle.
When you start your search for a milling machine, there are a few things that every machine—regardless of size, make, or brand—should be able to accomplish. High speed, high precision, the ability to perform ultra-fine machining at the micro and macro levels, and much more.
The ZEUS-86 does all that, and more. With internal cooling capabilities specifically designed to enable high-speed milling while minimizing deformations, production errors, or downtime, the ZEUS-86 delivers everything your shop floor needs in a high-performance milling machine. It can do all of this—while handling a workpiece up to 1,763 lbs. in weight. The high-rigidity bed with ideal rib distribution guarantees static positioning accuracy of ±0.000080″ and ±0.000030″ repeatability. The ZEUS-86 is capable of a wide spindle speed range (200 – 25,000 RPM) using an oil-mist lubricated spindle and a 20-HP AC spindle motor.
The ZEUS-86 is a unique member of the Roku machine family as it uses a Twin Drive System for the Y-axis. This is a twin direct drive motor/ball screw system that is designed to move the large table and workpiece weight and still maintain its high degree of accuracy.
From productivity to profit margins, this is one big machine that’s ready to make a big impact on your business.
RIGID CONSTRUCTION FOR UNYIELDING ACCURACY
- The ZEUS-86 has been designed using a high-rigidity base casting, a twin drive Y-axis ball screw system moving the table and workpiece weight, and a dual Z-axis balance cylinder that all work together to provide smooth, precise, and stable movement. That’s quite a mouthful, but the results are simple: reliable, error-free milling you can count on, no matter what.
OPTIMIZE YOUR FLOOR PLAN WITH “HYBRID” MACHINING
- The ZEUS-86 is built to handle big jobs, but it’s also big on multifunctionality. By offering multiple milling capabilities all in one single machine, this machine brings maximum utility to your floor plan in an economical way, allowing you to save on space without cutting back on performance.
FINE WORK AT ANY SKILL LEVEL
- Coupled with the Fanuc 31i-B5 CNC controller, the ZEUS-86 is an exceptionally well-built machine tool that can be operated by users of nearly any skill level. Operators can produce great results with unsurpassed speed and accuracy—even for the most complex, demanding, or difficult projects.
CAPABILITIES:
- The ZEUS-86’s high-rigidity, bridge-type monoblock structure allows high-speed, high-precision machining, while the minimized distance between the Z-axis guideways and spindle center provides greater stability

- High-speed direct hard milling is possible via dry or semi-dry oil-mist systems
- New HSK-E50 holder achieves 6 times higher clamping force than a regular BT shank while dual balance cylinders reduce the load for the Z-axis ball screw and servo motor
- The ZEUS-86 is a unique member of the Roku-Roku machine family as it uses a twin drive system for the Y-axis. This is a twin direct drive motor/ball screw system that is designed to move the large table and workpiece weight and still maintain its high degree of accuracy
- The ZEUS-86 features a Fanuc 31i-B5 super high-speed processor and Al Contour Control II – A “NANO CNC system” with intelligent velocity control, NANO interpolation, and NANO smoothing
- The entire machine is designed using HIS (Heat Isolation System) that combines heat discharge fans on all axes and dual chiller systems to cool the spindle and machining coolant. Thermal growth control is held to ±0.1°C using this combined system.

"The Eagle 800 has burn technology that gives us a competitive advantage because it takes about half the time to burn and uses fewer electrodes, which saves both time and money. Our goal is to run it all day and all weekend. I like that we also are cutting down on our carbon footprint by using fewer graphite electrodes and less copper wire than before."

"We used to struggle with tool deflection on deep cuts. Now we’re able to tip that up in a five axis and actually hit on the bottom of the flute. And we’re not getting that tool push anymore. Electrodes are so, so much more accurate."

"The kinematics of the Roku-Roku VMCs allow us to run faster feed rates and not sacrifice surface finish or accuracy. The machines are efficient in terms of increased cutter life, reliable Fanuc control and overall machine stability. We can run longer intervals on downstream inspection on parts that the Roku-Rokus machined."
